Time Warner Cable is targeting the hospitality sector with a new high-speed data service for hotels and motels.

The initiative, Road Runner Business Class Hospitality Solutions, will leverage existing hotel wiring for broadband services connected via data modems or Ethernet ports. Other features of the service include Web hosting, domain name services, managed security and remote storage and dial-up access.

TWC estimates that a typical service can be installed and ready to go in less than two days. Time Warner Cable will also supply each guest with direct access to 24/7 customer support.

The new service is already installed in a number of hotels in New York City, Cincinnati, Charlotte, Kansas City and Honolulu.
