The Cable Center said it will induct seven more industry vets into the Cable Television Hall of Fame next year.
The new inductees will be:
Jack Crosby, who has been one of the founders of eight major MSOs. He is the founder and current chairman of The Rust Group;
John Goddard, former president and CEO of Viacom Cable;
Robert Johnson, founder of Black Entertainment Television and current owner of the NBA's Charlotte Hornets;
Geraldine Laybourne, a cable programming exec who founded Oxygen Media, and previously served as president of Nickelodeon and president of Disney/ABC Cable Networks;
Paul Maxwell, who founded about 40 publications, including industry trades Cablevision and Multichannel News;
Trygve Myhren, former chairman and CEO of American Television and Communications Corp, and a past chairman of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association;
June Travis, vice president and COO of NCTA until her retirement in 1999. She also served as president and CEO of Denver-based Rifkin & Associates.
The new members of the Hall will be formally honored at a Cable Center event scheduled for the evening of Oct. 13, 2004.
