ADC launches new CMTS for small markets
ADC (http://www.adc.com) has taken the wraps off its new Cuda 3000, a carrier-class CMTS aimed at cable operators serving markets up to 50,000 homes passed. The new hardware will be available for purchase in February 2004.
Available in multiple configurations, the CMTS has the ability to grow with the customer base, unlike fixed configuration "pizza box" systems.
The Cuda 3000 has the ability to deliver advanced IP-based multimedia services, such as residential Internet access, commercial data services, VPNs and voice services, through its unique architecture. In addition, it provides a software and hardware upgrade path to DOCSIS 2.0.
ADC says it has deployed over 900 current-generation Cuda 12000 systems to customers including Adelphia, Cox Communications and several other service providers around the globe.
