The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is seeking white paper proposals for technical workshops to be held at the organization's annual Cable-Tec Expo. The 2004 iteration is scheduled to run June 15–18 in Orlando, Fla.
SCTE said the Expo subcommittee will review proposals covering any topic, but will give preference to those that apply to technical issues tied to the following subjects: advances and changes in video-on-demand, network management, transport systems and architectures, bandwidth management, customer premise equipment, workforce management, and the rolling out of the "triple-play" (voice, video and data).
SCTE has set a proposal deadline of Dec. 12, 2003. The Society suggests that candidates submit proposals in one- to two-page abstract form and include paper subject, title, name of author/presenter, affiliation, mailing address, telephone/fax numbers and e-mail address. SCTE said it will not accept previously published papers.
Proposals can be sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or via postal mail to: Glenda Calcaterra, SCTE, 140 Philips Road, Exton, Pa., 19341-1318. They may also be faxed to 610-363-7133.
The SCTE Expo subcommittee will announce selected presentations on Jan. 23, 2004.
