Broadband telephony firm Vonage has launched Toll Free Plus, enabling subscribers to add toll-free numbers for $4.99 per month, per line.

Like other features, Vonage subs can purchase and activate the service via a Web-based "dashboard," and select an 800 number based on availability.

"By providing toll-free services we're giving our customers, particularly families and small businesses, the ability to easily and affordably call each other from anywhere free of charge," said Vonage Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Citron, in a press release.

Vonage, after initially going after broadband customers without sharing revenue with the high-speed service provider, has recently begun to partner with cable operators on "private label" VoIP services. Advanced Cable Communications and Armstrong Cable were the first to announce such partnerships.

To date, Vonage has activated more than 30,000 lines.
