IP telephony startup Syndeo Corp. said its flagship Syion Call Management Server and Media Gateway Controller is supporting 10,000 live VoIP customers in Japan, and expects that figure to jump to 20,000 sometime this quarter and 100,000 by year's end.

Syndeo noted that it will hit those numbers thanks to deployments by Japan-based MSOs and distributors such as ZTV, KMN, Itech Hanshin and the Toyama CATV Consortium. Sumisho Electronics serves as Syndeo's distributor in Japan.

Closer to home, CableLabs awarded PacketCable 1.0 qualification earlier this year to Syndeo's Syion 426 CMS.
