Altrio Communications said a survey of Pasadena, Calif. residents conducted in April revealed that the overbuilder was tops among the area's video service providers, scoring a satisfaction rating of 94 percent.

Altrio, which competes in the market with incumbent cable operator Charter Communications, launched services there in April 2002. Altrio has since added video-on-demand movies and Starz! subscription-VOD content to its digital video menu.

According to Altrio, the survey also revealed that satellite received a satisfaction rating of 84 percent, followed by antenna-based TV (67 percent) and Charter (58 percent).

At the time of the survey, conducted by the City of Pasadena, Altrio passed about 20 percent, or 10,800 of the city's 54,000 households.
