Quebecor Media has named Robert Depatie as president and CEO of cable TV operator Videotron Ltd., the Montreal-based multimedia company announced Friday.

Depatie, who has been with Videotron since December 2001 as senior vice president of sales, marketing and customer service, will take up the new post immediately.

Prior to joining Videotron, Depatie was head of commercial activities with a major multinational food company.

Montreal-based Videotron, a subsidiary of Quebecor Media, is a cable TV and Internet company that operates in Quebec with more than 1.4 million cable customers.
