Report: Router/switch market down in Q1
Wed, 05/21/2003 - 8:00pm
Global revenue for routers and switches totaled $1.1 billion in the first quarter, down 12 percent from the previous period, Infonetics Research said in a new report.
The firm also forecasts that those revenues will be flat year-over-year, totaling about $5.2 billion by year-end 2003.
Only the edge and core router markets will grow in 2003 as multi-service switch sales continue to fall, Infonetics added.
For the first quarter, Cisco Systems led the sector with 48 percent of the market's revenue.
