Cedar Point adds VoIP partners
Cedar Point Communications Inc. said it has added seven vendors to a partnership program aimed at creating "end-to-end" cable telephony systems.
Joining Cedar Point's "Service Class Partners Program" are: IP Unity, Lemur Networks, Liberate Technologies, Lucent Technologies, Tellabs and Toshiba. Other members include ADC, Alopa, Arris, Broadband Access Networking Group, Broadcom Corp., C-COR.net, Ceon, Core Networks, Motorola Broadband and Terayon.
Those manufacturers make hardware and software components that complement SAFARI C3 platform, which combines several PacketCable elements, including the call management server and media gateway controller, into one box.
Cedar Point has trial relationships with Comcast Corp. and MetroCast Cablevision.
