Arris releases DOCSIS 2.0 modem
Mon, 04/21/2003 - 8:00pm
Arris announced the availability of the CM 450A, a DOCSIS 2.0-certified cable modem featuring a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet and USB data interface for home networking.
Arris first introduced its 400-series modem line in November 2002. The products are based on a chipset from Texas Instruments.
Arris noted that the CM 450A and the company's line of embedded multimedia terminal adapters use tuners from Microtune Inc., an important point considering a court recently awarded a preliminary injunction against Broadcom Corp. The judgment bars Broadcom from selling or importing into the U.S. its BCM3415 silicon tuner and "certain" reference design boards containing that product.
