Rodgers joins MyDTV as CEO
Cable veteran James "Bow" Rodgers has joined the board of MyDTV and has taken the reins of the software company as its new CEO. MyDTV founder Gil Dudkiewicz will remain the company's chairman and president.
Burlingame, Calif.-based MyDTV provides "personalized" TV services that allow viewers to set preferences and to help them "filter" and navigate digital programming.
In his new role, Rodgers will head up the company's expansion plans, which include a commercial service deployment sometime this year. Closely held MyDTV offers three primary products: PromoLogic, Content IQ and TV Agent. The startup has secured partnerships with cable programmers such as Bloomberg Television, Court TV and TechTV, among others.
Previously, Rodgers was COO of BigBand Networks and, before that, was COO and general manager of PowerTV Inc., a set-top box software subsidiary of Scientific-Atlanta.
