Mediacom Communications Corp. said fourth quarter revenues jumped 12.5 percent to $239 million, while operating cash flow grew 10.4 percent to $99.3 million. For the full year, Mediacom revenues rose 10.7 percent to $923 million.

Mediacom said those numbers have put the MSO on a path to achieve positive free cash flow (operating cash flow minus total interest expense and capital expenditures) by the second half of 2003.

The MSO also reported it had 2.15 million revenue generating units (RGUs) by the end of 2002, a 5.9 percent year-over-year increase, but said its basic subscriber base dropped 0.4 percent to 1.59 million.

On the advanced services front, Mediacom ended the period with 371,000 digital subs, up 15.6 percent compared to the year earlier, and 191,000 high-speed data customers, up 66.1 percent.

For 2003, Mediacom forecasted revenues to rise 10 percent to 11 percent, with operating cash growing by 11.3 percent to 12.3 percent. Regarding services, the MSO said it expected basic subs figures to be flat or down 1 percent, but that its digital base will rise to between 425,0000 to 435,000 subs, and HSD subs will jump to between 265,000 to 275,000.
