In an effort to pre-empt new digital movie-delivery services such as Movielink and to take advantage of white-hot DVD adoption, Kanakaris Wireless, which operates Internet VOD site CinemaPop.com, said it will offer to its paid monthly subscribers a 25 percent discount on the suggested retail price of DVDs.
Kanakaris, through its Fast Forward Marketing subsidiary, will offer "thousands" of DVD titles for sale to its Internet subs, including several of the latest major studio releases.
According to the site, "new" theatrical DVD releases available for discount include Academy Award-winner "A Beautiful Mind" and classic titles such as "Elvis: Blue Hawaii."
"It is our goal to have the largest possible selection of titles, and we have added a movie search feature to the site," said Kanakaris Wireless founder and President Alex Kanakaris, in a press release.
