nCUBE Corp. has inked a multi-million dollar contract with Adlink, the Los Angeles Digital Cable Interconnect, to deploy the vendor's Digital Ad Insertion system. Adlink is currently expanding its digital ad insertion capability with the goal of making the Los Angeles interconnect the first fully Digital Program Insertion (DPI) capable system in the nation.

Adlink, the nation's largest digital cable interconnect, delivers an average of 100,000 spots a day, more than all the broadcast stations in the top 20 markets combined. It supports 44 networks and 75 headends. Equity partners include Adelphia Media Services, AOL Time Warner, AT&T Media Services, Charter Communications and Cox Cable Communications.

The DPI system offers digital-to-analog and digital-to-digital content insertion from one platform. It is compatible with DVS-253 and DVS-380 standards, and is installed in more than 600 channels, according to company officials.
