tComLabs and the EuroDOCSIS Certification Board (ECB) put the finishing touches on certification wave 9 and 9B, announcing that more cable modems and cable modem termination systems were given the go ahead on EuroDOCSIS 1.0 and 1.1.

On the EuroDOCSIS 1.1 front, ECB said two cable modems—Motorola Broadband's SURFboard SB4200E and Thomson Multimedia's TCM290—were certified, and one CMTS—Juniper Networks ' new pizza-box G1—was qualified during the wave. In all, four cable modems and seven CMTSs have passed the test for EuroDOCSIS 1.1.

Wave 9B resulted in the certification of two standalone cable modems-Thomson's TCM380 and Toshiba's PCX2500/DAZ8826-for EuroDOCSIS 1.0. The wave also awarded 1.0 "qualification" to a cable modem embedded in a Philips digital set-top box, the Philips Digital Cable Receiver MTC8030/00A.

In aggregate, tComLabs and the ECB have awarded EuroDOCSIS 1.0 certification to 37 standalone modems, qualified four set-tops with integrated cable modems, and qualified 17 CMTSs.
