Wimbledon, tennis' most regal fortnight, is getting an interactive facelift this year, thanks to a collaboration between Turner Sports Inc. and the All England Lawn & Tennis Club.

In addition to the usual coverage on TNT, some viewers are also getting treated to Wink-enabled polls and trivia, a VOD package that touts some classic Wimbledon matches and wireless updates from America Online.

On the VOD front, Turner is offering eight classic matches from July 8 through July 31, including the 1980 and 1981 finals between Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe. Turner also offered the VOD package in the weeks leading to the tournament.

Consumers will pay VOD fees set by the operator, said Turner Network Sales Senior Vice President of Interactive and Enhanced TV Kevin Cohen, estimating that prices could be in the range of $1.50 to $1.95 per match.
