Cisco Systems Inc. said CableLabs has accepted three of its products for the R&D organization's PacketCable Advanced Interoperability Test Network (AITN).

Specifically, CableLabs will install Cisco's DOCSIS 1.1-qualified uBR7246VXR CMTS/router, AS5350 Media Gateway and CSRC/BPR Provisioning Server on its Louisville, Colo.-based test network. That equipment will facilitate the testing of components submitted for PacketCable certification and qualification, Cisco said.

PacketCable, whose underpinning is DOCSIS 1.1, defines a broadband architecture for IP-based services ranging from telephony to multimedia audio and video. In addition to CMTSs, media gateways and provisioning servers, other PacketCable network components include multimedia terminal adapters, call management servers and record keeping servers.
