Intertainer launches Demand E.S.P.; Pace trims supply chain

Intertainer launched its Demand E.S.P. on-demand entertainment services platform and landed its first customer. Operators can pick from seven modules — including asset management and production, programming and scheduling, and usage reporting — to customize the VOD service they'll offer. The system is designed to manage, program, distribute and track on-demand content. The company also will supply Canadian telecom Aliant Telecom with the product. Financial terms were not disclosed. …

A bankruptcy court confirmed Novo Networks Chapter 11 liquidation plan for certain of its operating units, including Novo Networks Operating Corp., AsixTel Communications Inc. and e.Volve Technology Group Inc. Still in question are such points as the units' asset sales, but those should be resolved in 60 days. The company also extended the amount and maturity date of the units' debtor-in-possession credit facility. …

Under a three-year deal, Pace Micro Technology will streamline its supply chain by outsourcing its new product introduction, manufacturing and assembly, test and product distribution to Solectron Corp., which will provide the services via its NPI and manufacturing centers in Europe, the Americas and the Asia Pacific region. Production will start in April and reach full volume in Europe by mid-summer. Work in other regions will follow, the two say. …

McCleodUSA inked a deal to sell its CapRock Services Corp. unit to a holding company formed by an investor group. The sale includes subsidiaries CapRock UK Ltd. and Spacelink Systems Inc. The telecom provider inherited the CapRock companies as part of a December 2000 acquisition of CapRock Communications Corp. of Dallas. CapRock Services supplies telecom service to the oil and gas industries. Financial terms were not disclosed. …
