Cable 2002 to focus on tech's cutting edge

Next month's National Show will place a heavy focus on cable and other telecommunications technologies.

Cable 2002 will feature topics ranging from advanced optical and IP network architecture, traffic/bandwidth management, IP streaming protocols, security and residential gateways. The 43rd volume of NCTA's technical papers will be presented during eight technical sessions.

Meanwhile, Kim Kelly, executive vice president and COO of Insight, is scheduled to keynote the 11th Annual Academic Seminar, which is held in conjunction with the National Show. Session topics will include new products such as iTV, VOD, high-speed data and regulatory issues.

The 2002 National Show is slated for May 5-8 in New Orleans.
