Sure, VC and other funding's out there, barely, but $110 million? Plus? Santera Systems Inc. scored more than $110 million in a third round of financing, it reports. The amount, led by Redpoint Ventures, brings its total to date to $200 million.

Santera supplies next-generation switching solutions, a telecom infrastructure market valued at about $40 billion a year, a Redpoint spokesman says.

The company says it will use the funds to speed up major carrier initiatives and to expand international capabilities.

And it's not shy about its acquisition.

"We have raised an unprecedented amount of money in one of the most difficult financing environments in recent history," says CEO David Heard, in a statement.

Investors for the round include Austin Ventures, Institutional Venture Partners and Sequoia Capital, with other strategic investors, Santera says.
