Liberate Technologiesteamed with SurfControl on technology that allows parental control over ITV content.

Under the deal, SurfControl's Internet filtering engine will be integrated with Liberate's TV platform software. The result means a primary user can edit and change the parental control level of the system.

SurfControl says its line uses filtering, pass-through and pass by technologies to control Internet content. The line includes SuperScout Web filter for corporations; Cyber Patrol for homes and schools; and the content filtering SDK, a solution for ISPs, search engines, Internet appliances and ASPs, it says.

The company counts AT&T, Cisco Systems, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Intel and Microsoft Corp.'s Web TV as industry "partners."

No word on whether the technology is available yet, and a SurfControl spokesman could not be reached by CEDaily deadline.
