Scientific-Atlanta's WebStar DPX110 cable modem landed ExciteAtHome's AtHome Level 2 approval, confirming the modem's integration, interoperability and provisioning in Excite's DOCSIS network environment, S-A says.

The modem is CableLabs certified, as well, S-A says, and is compatible with DOCSIS, Euro-DOCSIS and CE standards. It's designed to be software upgradeable to DOCSIS 1.1, and claims speeds up to 43 Mbps downstream and 10 Mbps upstream. Finally, it combines USB and Ethernet ports, allowing deployment across a wide range of consumers, without a need for upgrades, S-A says.

The company adds that the designation confirms its global plans and efforts. It recently marked the sale of 150,000 WebStar modems over several months to customers in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
