CopperCom and Kenetec to Deliver VoB

CopperCom is partnering with Kenetec Inc. to deploy a joint voice- over-broadband system. The system will consist of CopperCom's CSX 2100 media gateway, CopperController softswitch and VoB gateway, combined with Kenetec's EdgeXpress 5000 Service Exchange Platform and the EdgeXpress 1000 Service Access Unit.

EurekaGGN, a provider of integrated communications services for commercial customers, will deploy the joint system, with initial rollout in New York City.

"The integrated solution from CopperCom and Kenetec will enable EurekaGGN to deliver business-class services to small- and mid-sized enterprises located in MTU facilities, quickly, cost-effectively and profitably," says Steve Camas, CTO for EurekaGGN.

As part of the interoperability and performance process, CopperCom certified the Kenetec EdgeXpress 1000 and 5000 products as Copper Compliant, which is the highest level of partner certification in the CopperXchange Partner Program, based on their performance in VoB testing.

CopperCom recently announced its delivery of GR-303 support for its CSX 2100 media gateway and CopperController softswitch, which EurekaGGN is deploying. GR-303 enables support of VoB gateways and legacy digital loop carriers for service providers who use VoB as their preferred access technology.
