Alcatel will supply German carrier NetCologne with DSL equipment for broadband access and VoDSL.
NetCologne will install nine of Alcatel's 7670 Routing Switch Platforms, which aggregate the DSL traffic over ATM, as well as customer premise equipment from Alcatel's SpeedTouch DSL modems.
Under the deal, NetCologne also will use Alcatel's VoDSL gateway on its 7300 Advanced Services Access Multiplexer for adding voice lines over copper used for Internet access.
Finally, NetCologne will control the network with Alcatel's 5620 network manager, Alcatel reports.
NetCologne supplies telephone over Internet, cable TV and data services in Cologne and surrounding districts.
