West Virginia changing the way the state communicates
The Governor's Office of Technology (GOT) recently announced a cutting-edge initiative that will change the way West Virginians communicate electronically. The state is supporting the creation of a next-generation network. This proposed network lays the foundation for Governor Bob Wise's e-government initiative. The GOT is turning to the telecommunication and technology firms across the country to help develop this statewide network encompassing basic digital transport: voice, data, video and Internet access. The proposed statewide network will ensure West Virginia gets the maximum return for money spent on network services. It will also create a more reliable, faster communication system for the state.
