Former broadband exec jumps to Qwest
Former AT&T Broadband CTO Tony Werner was appointed executive VP of strategic technology at Qwest, the telecom announced.
Werner will oversee strategic technology planning and development for the 14 states where Qwest provides service, as well as other Qwest markets.
Werner was CTO at AT&T Broadband and at TCI, its predecessor. There, he developed a technology strategy and was instrumental in the rollout of digital TV services, cable telephony and high-speed cable modem technology, Qwest says. Most recently, he was president and CEO of Aurora Networks.
