OpenTV and ITERU will partner on an ITV and unified messaging combination the two will market to Asia's TV network operators on OpenTV's platform.

The network is expected to allow operators to provide services where subscribers can send and receive messages between TVs and such other devices as mobile phones using SMS or WAP, PCs with e-mail and ICQ, or fax. Likewise, operators can provide viewers with a shot at interacting with TV programs by chatting with other viewers or responding to polls, OpenTV reports.

The deal is part of OpenTV's plan to build partnerships in the Asia Pacific. Earlier this week, it won the bid to supply Shanghai Cable Network's interactive platform and related services.
