Emperative says it's completed interoperability tests between ProvEn Optical and equipment from Cisco Systems, Nortel Networks and Ciena.

The testing is part of its program to automate service activation and management across access, metro and core networks, including Sonet, DWDM, GigE, HFC and IP networks.

The interoperability testing, completed in service labs nationwide, entails Nortel's OPTera 5200, Cisco's 15454 and Ciena's K2, Emperative reports.

The program intends to allow service providers to reduce service activation time by "proactively completing systems interoperability between the essential elements required for delivery of these services," it says.
