LSI Logic Corp. will use Boost Core and Boost software IP products from NewLogic Technologies AG, letting LSI add Bluetooth functionality to its standard products, LSI reports. The agreement also allows LSI to add the Boost Core to its CoreWare library.
LSI's integrated solutions and system-on-a-chip let it offer designers of Bluetooth applications a solution designed to help take their products to market quickly, LSI reports.
The Boost IP line includes a Bluetooth baseband processor, a full software protocol stack and a CMOS radio. When combined with a "suitable" microcontroller core, those permit implementation of a single-chip Bluetooth solution, using industry standard CMOS process technologies, LSI reports.
