Liberate Technologies and Intertainer will partner on a program that allows entertainment-on-demand service over existing networks. The agreement combines products, and sales and marketing efforts, and is intended to streamline EOD's deployment, the two report.

Intertainer will integrate its VOD application and EOD services with Liberate's TV Platform software for basic and advanced digital set-top boxes. The combined technologies deliver Intertainer's entertainment products over Liberate's software platform to a network operator's subscriber base.

The combination also "leverages integration work each company has conducted with video server solutions from SeaChange, Concurrent and nCube," the two say in a statement.

Likewise, the agreement makes Intertainer an infrastructure partner in Liberate's PopTV Program, where Liberate partners with vendors to provide packaged ITV services and products to operators.

The partnership develops an open platform for ITV and further ITV acceptance, Intertainer President and CEO Jonathan Taplin said in a statement.
