Hollywood Showdown, the Game Show Network (GSN) original game show that provides contestants with the chance to win big box office bucks, launches an interactive component beginning March 5, 2001. Developed by Mixed Signals, interactive Hollywood Showdown allows fans with WebTV Plus and Liberate-enabled set-top boxes to play along.
Couch potato players can compete along with Hollywood Showdown contestants in real-time during the show. Using the directional arrows on their interactive remote or keyboard to register the correct multiple choice answer, interactive Hollywood Showdown players score points by answering the same game questions as the in-studio contestants. A point value reflecting the current dollar amount added to the Box Office is awarded for each correct response. GSN viewers also play along from home as the in-studio contestants try for the jackpot in the box office round.
