ICG drama not over yet
Though ICG Communications has gone through every business tragedy possible, the company is still entangled in courtroom drama. The now-broke CLEC is asking a federal bankruptcy court judge to approve a $6 million settlement in a dispute with Microsoft's MSN Internet service provider, reports WSJ.com.
In 1999, ICG provided dial-up service for MSN and routed the company's information over ICG's network. But Microsoft doesn't want to pay for services rendered, saying ICG didn't live up to its level-of-service promises. ICG says Microsoft owes $21 million but is apparently willing to settle for $6 million, reports WSJ.com.
WSL.com also reports that despite the flak over the bill, the two companies will sign a new contract and continue to do business in the future.
