WideOpenWest is meeting the demand of its entertainment-hungry customers with Video- On-Demand, DemandVideo's answer to immediate access to movies and other programming.

WOW customers can order up that impulse movie purchase with the touch of a button on a simple remote. Customers also have 24 hours in which to view the movie, so they can start it on Friday night and finish it on Saturday. Video-On-Demand entertainment choices include the usual suspects: recent box office hits, classics and family movies, as well as how-to programming.

"WOW is the first of a series of deployments DemandVideo has in front of it using Video-On-Demand in new markets. This particular project with WOW includes the [Colorado] Front-Range, consisting of Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs, which is the first region we are rolling out," Richard Hercules, president and CEO of DemandVideo, tells CED. "There will be more regions in the southwest." That said, Hercules declined to name which cities are next on the list or when they'll go live.
