For those who really want to sit on the couch to surf the 'Net, Zenith's new 27-inch TV with a built-in Internet dial-up connection is for you.

For just 600 bucks, you can connect to the Web while not missing a frame of your favorite programs. Users will be able to take advantage of e-mail and online shopping too.

Zenith says the set may replace the clutter of separate set-tops, which offer the same functionalities, in subs' living rooms, and pick up those frustrated users of WebTV.

"More people all the time interact through their computer while they're watching television," says John Taylor, Zenith spokesman. "This [TV] is sort of a seamless, integrated experience for those who want to watch television and surf at the same time."

However, the Zenith built-in dial-up modem will not, as yet, be able to take advantage of advanced interactive features that are becoming more commonplace.
