Wink subscribers have shown just how much they like their iTV. The interactive TV provider is holding a contest that lets Wink-enabled cable TV subscribers win free cable service and products when they interact with the enhanced programming.
The contest, being held nationwide, is offered to more than 250,000 households in 16 cable markets. Similar to a rewards program, the more the viewers use Wink services the better their chances of winning prizes. Among the prizes is a year of free cable TV.
"From this contest we are seeing response rates far beyond those seen from typical direct mail," says Katie Sullivan, executive vice president of marketing, Wink Communications. "In all of the participating cable markets, Wink usage has more than doubled as a result of this promotion."
