China Broadband is updating its name to go with its recent successes. The broadband service provider in China will wholly acquire Century Vision Cable (CVN) and adopt China Convergent as its new corporate name.

CVN utilizes the existing cable infrastructure of its PRC joint venture partners and combines its two-way interactive technology and set-top boxes to provide broadband entertainment, personal computing, content and e-commerce services.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Hong Kong-based China Convergent develops broadband Chinese content, manufactures its own set-top boxes and develops Asian interactive broadband cable networks. The company has deployed services in several new regions this year, and has added 10 million new subscribers.
