Telewest expands cable empire
Bigger is better, according to Telewest. Looking to significantly expand its cable network, UK-based Telewest has acquired Eurobell from Deutche Telekom AG for about $406 million.
"We believe we're in a great business and therefore more is good," Telewest CEO Adam Singer said. "The purchase of Eurobell is a terrific opportunity to expand our network by acquiring the last significant independent cable operator in Britain."
Eurobell provides phone, Internet, data and cable-television services to residential and business customers in southern England.
