Motor City runs smoothly on Telseon

Telseon's turbo-charged optical network has promised smooth roads ahead for Detroit's businesses.

Using Telseon's Ethernet-based technology, customers and the tenants located in Detroit's data centers will be able to transmit data at 20,000 times the speed of the fastest dial-up modem. Telseon said this would cost less than half the price of traditional telecommunications providers' services.

The company's strategy is to place the control of the data network in the hands of the customer and enable service providers and data center operators to give Detroit-based businesses an alternative to traditional telecommunication offerings.

Detroit businesses that could benefit from such a strategy include powerhouses Chrysler, General Motors, Ford, Kmart Lear, EDS and the Detroit Medical Center,
