C-Cube has introduced a new family of integrated cable front-end chips - according to the company, the first ever - designed to support all major world cable standards. The two chips, part of the MultiLynx line, let set-top box and cable modem manufacturers design a single product that can be deployed on any two-way broadband cable network anywhere in the world.
The CL2161 chips enable two-way communication using DOCSIS, EuroDOCSIS and DVB in-band cable modem standards.
The CL2151 is the first cable-modem chip designed specifically for set-top boxes.
