Oracle, the largest e-business software provider, has exchanged some of its technology and other assets from its iTV division for minority equity stakes in nCUBE and Thirdspace. nCUBE is a media streaming infrastructure supplier and London-based Thirdspace creates end-to-end solutions for broadband networks.

Oracle executive vice-president Gary Bloom said in a statement that Oracle hopes to more effectively deploy its video technology by transferring it to companies that are focused only on interactive TV.

nCUBE will now own the intellectual property and the Oracle Video Server software that nCUBE's MediaCube servers utilize. Additionally, several key personnel from Oracle will join nCUBE.
