AT&T, Cablevision, Comcast and Time Warner cable companies have teamed up to offer 1.6 million of their subscribers in various markets's customized program listings.

Subs in Boston, south New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Milwaukee will be able to log on to to get system-specific local TV schedules. After entering their ZIP codes, subs can tailor their viewing selections by day, time, program category and channel. Programs offered as pay-per-view can be ordered just by clicking an icon.

Users need to set up a password before they start clicking away. The password alerts the system to all ordering information, identifies the subscriber, processes the order and routes the information to the cable operator for immediate authorization and billing.
