Being home officed just got easier. Linksys has unveiled its newest device for SOHO and small business use. The EtherFast 8-port cable/DSL router allows users securely connect their PCs to a cable or DSL modem to the Internet and perform networking tasks such as file and printer sharing. The EtherFast also has a natural firewall using Network Address Translation and lets users share or store data securely, warding off hackers. Network admins will appreciate the remote features that allow software installation and upgrades, run logs and regulated Internet limitations from anywhere in the world.

According to Linksys, they have sold more than 300,000 cable/DSL routers market wide in the past six months, and have gained more than 55 percent of the market share in the one and four-port routers.
