RCN has gotten the nod to build out its high-capacity, Megaband network in Millbrae, Redwood City and San Carlos, Calif., and offer residents its bundled phone, cable and high-speed Internet services, known as ResiLink.

Millbrae, Redwood City and San Carlos join Burlingame and San Francisco on the roster of California cities where RCN will offer its ResiLink services. RCN already operates in South San Francisco, San Mateo and Daly City in northern California.

RCN will also begin network construction in Beverly Hills and Gardena. RCN has designed or built 4,300 local route miles of fiber in California, targeting the most densely populated residential areas in the country. The average homes per mile for Millbrae, Redwood City and San Carlos are more than four times above the national average of 30 homes per mile of plant.

Besides the California area, RCN is working on the build out and delivery of services from Boston to Washington, D.C., as well as Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.
