Anadigics has introduced its ARA3000, a reverse path amplifier targeted for residential gateway and IP telephony applications. The ARA3000 compensates for noisy reverse paths that can plague typical cable systems and allows cable ops to remotely diagnose and isolate noise ingress problems that have the potential to bring a system down.

The ARA3000, designed with the IP telephony architectures being developed by AT&T and other cable system owners in mind, allows the residential gateway to compensate for any additional system losses in the return band between the home and the tap.
