The chairman of Akamai fears lower prices could prevail for the products and services his company provides because of a patent dispute with Digital Island. The companies are suing each other over who owns the intellectual copyrights to the similar technology powering Akamai's FreeFlow service, and Digital Island's Footprint product.

In other news, Resonate has been Akamaized. Akamai and Resonate have integrated their technologies to point Resonate users to the nearest information repository on Akamai's global network. The Resonate Akamaizer software speeds content delivery by embedding URLs into Akamai Resource Locators (ARLs), a process they call Akamaization.
