Ultra Broadband Services with DOCSIS® 3.0
"Launching ultra broadband services with DOCSIS® 3.0 channel bonding"
Live Webcast: Thursday, April 12, 2007
11:00 a.m. ET; 8:00 a.m. PT
DOCSIS® 3.0 Channel Bonding provides a standardized approach to bonding multiple physical channels into a single, virtual, high-bandwidth channel. This can be achieved by inverse multiplexing multiple RF channels to create a single logical channel. With the help of industry experts, this 60-minute Webcast will explain the theory and practice of implementing Channel Bonding to provide ultra-broadband services to both commercial and residential subscribers. The session will explain how DOCSIS Channel Bonding techniques allow cable operators to deliver increased bandwidth to a given cable modem by transmitting DOCSIS frames across multiple RF channels in parallel. Through the use of topology diagrams and other visual aids, panelists will show how Channel Bonding enables increased throughput between a cable modem and a CMTS by sending packets on multiple streams at the same time. The session will also feature a case study on a real-life implementation of Channel Bonding, and how an operator is pushing the speed needle with a 100 Mbps data service for residential customers.
During this 60-minute, live event, you’ll learn…
- How operators are using channel bonding today to deliver 100 Mbps data services to residential and business subscribers.
- About the key lessons operators have learned from their initial deployments, as well as the important recommendations they have for other cable operators that are gearing up to test or deploy super-fast, channel-bonded data services.
- How DOCSIS channel bonding is positioned to evolve into a platform that can deliver up to 1 Gbps within the next two-to-three years.
