A marriage made in Alaska: Alopa ties the knot with GCI

SANTA CLARA, Calif.-GCI, Alaska's largest broadband service provider, is deploying Alopa Networks' MetaServ Provisioning platform. GCI selected MetaServ to automate the provisioning of Internet services on both its existing proprietary Com21 equipment, as well as its next-generation DOCSIS 1.1 hardware from Cadant.

After reviewing many solutions in the marketplace today, Alopa's MetaServ was the best solution that addressed both our existing DOCSIS 1.1 needs and provided a clear path for our future plans as well," said Terry Nidiffer, vice president of Internet services at GCI, in a statement.

The MetaServ platform will be used to define and deliver services to new and existing customers.
