Ed has an associate’s degree in electrical engineering from Lake Superior State University. He has served the cable industry since 1983 — working in Denver with Quality Cable Communications, in California as a contractor for Triax Communications and in Great Britain with Triax International as a contractor for Cambridge Cable (Comcast). In 1994, Ed accepted a position with Comcast on the upgrade team in Sarasota, Fla. In 1999, he became a Network Engineering Manager for Comcast in Pennsylvania.
Jay Staiger
Director of Marketing and Product Management
Electroline Equipment, Inc.

Jay Staiger is an industry veteran with cable television network experience dating from the early 1970s. His background comes from employment with Motorola (then Jerrold Electronics) and Philips Broadband Networks. He has originated and spearheaded the DOCSIS - HMS transponder development programs at Electroline. This program has resulted in the first ever deployed status monitoring transponder that is DOCSIS based and it is the first of its kind to be CableLabs Certified. Jay has authored articles published in various trade publications and presented at industry events. A senior member of the SCTE, he is an active participant in the SCTE’s HMS standards committee. He has a degree from Pennsylvania State University in Electrical Engineering.
