Comcast vice chairman and chief financial officer Michael J. Angelakis is leaving the company to establish a new global investment company, which he’ll do with Comcast’s backing.

Charter Communications will buy Bright House Networks only if Comcast’s purchase of Time Warner Cable is approved. The two deals will give Charter a greater concentration of systems mostly in the South and Midwest.

Ergen gets payoff as LightSquared bankruptcy settled

Dish Network CEO Charlie Ergen was granted a request for $1.4 billion in cash plus interest as repayment for LightSquared's debt he bought using hundreds of millions of dollars from his daughter's trust fund. In bankruptcy court last year, LightSquared alleged that Ergen had purchased the debt illegally on Dish's behalf and not for himself.
